We are so excited here at Original Gourmet! Not just because we are in charge of creating the world’s best lollipops but because we get to be a part of a great cause. The 3 rd Annual Benefit for Autism Speaks was held on April 7 th at the Edison Park Inn in Chicago, IL. At the event there was an amazing display with our gourmet lollipops. Last month was Autism awareness month and Kellie Schnur was all hands on deck. Each year Kellie participates in the Autism Walk at her local chapter and helps put together a benefit for Autism Speaks. Inspiration is the first thing that comes to mind when I was exchanging emails with Kellie. Her dedication and positive outlook was truly motivating and very touching. Kellie explained that bringing awareness to this cause means giving her son a chance, as well as all people living with the Autism. HO HO HO it feels like it was just yesterday that our house was decorated with lights, cookies were baking in the oven, hot coco on the stoves, and Christmas music filled our ears. Truth is Christmas was almost four months ago! Crazy I know. Time goes by way to fast and yet I still find Christmas bows under my couch and candy cane Lollipops from Original Gourmet hidden in random places. Once Christmas hits my house it takes about six months for it to leave. With the lovely New England snow in April, it still feels like December 25 th . What is America's favorite flavor lollipop? This is an interesting question that many people would love to know the answer to. I started my research on the Web trying to find all different kinds of flavors and what people mostly like from all different lollipop companies. I know I had a hard time finding my favorite and couldn’t pick just one when I was asked to. Many say that they like traditional flavors because they are simple and classy. Traditional flavors are typically most always available with any lollipop brand. There’s a wide range of lollipop lovers, children, teens and adults all love lollipops and all need to be taken into consideration when hunting for America’s favorite flavor. Dessert  is probably about my favorite thing, I love having a yummy sweet treat at the end of the day. Saying I have a sweet tooth is a bit of an understatement! I love sweets and that’s my problem, trying to live a healthy lifestyle is so hard because you don’t want to give up the things you love. Being disciplined is difficult but I know I have to in order to be healthier and take better care of my body. They are just so good though, I know I shouldn’t but I really want to indulge. Just a small taste of a Banana split, cherry cheesecake, Strawberry shortcake, or a big piece of chocolate cake. Can you say yummy? Sharing is caring, that’s what my parents always said. Remembering those little polite things teacher and parents would constantly enforce in our lives. How doing one nice thing for someone else would show how much you care. Funny how simple it used to be. Being a kid and making friends was so easy. All you had to do was share and say hi and it was like you had been friends your entire life. Sometimes I wish it was that easy now. If all I had to do was share a cute little lollipop to get people to be my friend, I would have a hundred friends. These little life-lessons that you learn as a child seem so far fetch now but are they really? Sometimes we over look those simple gesture. New employee at a job where selling and marketing lollipops is the key, can you say dream job! I was asked to try all our lollipops and write a blog about them. My inner child may have gotten a little too excited. The anger from every time my mom said no to a lollipop at the grocery store was ready to go. 25 lollipops and the biggest sugar rush later, I was ready to write.   I apologize to every employee I bothered as I ran up and down the halls hoping to literally get “ideas running”. I am pretty sure I annoyed the graphics designers as they were trying to get work done. My over dramatic breakdown over my mom saying no to lollipops when I was a child may have been a bit over-dramatic, but that is the best part about these lollipops. Fall is always such a creative and fun time. People like to decorate their homes, make costumes and enjoy the excitement of the season. Here at Original Gourmet, our Lolliologist are no different. We like to dress up the office space and of course we love to include our yummy pops in all our festive decorations. What do you think of our Fall Flavor Jar?
