How We’ve Made Candy Safer For You And Your Family

Here at the Original Gourmet Food Company our goal is to share smiles across the world, which is why we always make our customer’s health and safety our top priority. In this post we’re going to be breaking down which ingredients we don’t use and why we believe you should be avoiding these ingredients too!

Peanut Free:
Making our products peanut free was a no brainer for us. About 3 Million people in the US alone report having allergies to peanuts, a number which has tripled since 1997.  We do not want anyone to be deprived of experiencing our delicious lollipops or risk triggering an allergic reaction, which is why we make our lollipops peanut and risk free!

Gluten Free:
Even if you are not gluten intolerant or have celiac disease, eating gluten can lead to headaches, bloating and fatigue after it’s been consumed. Some Doctors even believe that up to 30%- 50% of the population potentially has a gluten intolerance!
We want eating our lollipops to be a positive experience that everyone can enjoy, which is why we do not include gluten in our tasty products!

High Fructose Corn Syrup Free:
High Fructose Corn Syrup is an ingredient that is commonly used in many sodas and candies because it is a cheap sweetener and easy to manufacture.
Unfortunately, HFCS contains unregulated measures of mercury, can cause obesity and diabetes, and contributes to lipogenesis, the most common disease in America today, which leads to fatty liver.  Cutting out HFCS is not just good for our consumers but for the planet, which is why not including it in our lollipops was an easy decision for us!

rBGH Free Cream:
rBGH is a genetically engineered hormone which is injected into cows to make them produce more milk.  rBGH has been declared unsafe by medical experts and has been banned in the European Union, Australia and many other countries.

It has also high levels of IGF-1 which has been linked to various types of cancers, which not only affect humans, but also the cows it is used on.  We believe that avoiding rBGH keeps our products safer and our costumers happier!
